This class will begin with the “best practices” of installing flow sensors for irrigation measurement and control. We’ll include model selection, sizing, installation location, and set-up. Then the class will expand to cover the complexity of installations requiring multiple flow sensors or sharing a flow sensor with multiple controllers, pump stations or other management or control devices. For a final topic we’ll discuss the challenges of adding flow sensors and master valves to existing systems when upgrading to smart controllers. We’ll end the class with time for a Q & A session
Instructor: Norman Bartlett – Creative Sensor Technology (CST)
Norman Bartlett is the President of Creative Sensor Technology a Massachusetts based manufacturing company he founded in 2007 to make flow measuring sensors and transmitters for the irrigation industry. He holds two patents; one for the Pathway wire sharing transmitter and the other for the just released ELF meter. He is a graduate of the Stockbridge School of Agriculture and graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a Bachelor of Science degree in Plant and Soil Science.
